5 Days in NYC

Solo NYC Vibes

Hello darlings! Recently I traveled to NYC for work to discover all new technology developments in the world of retail at the NRF 2018 show. It was amazing! I literally conversed with multiple robots, and Samsungs Smart Fridge could tell me what recipes I could make with ingredients in my fridge based on heat mapping and scanning products. So fun! I also met with Eli Manning and discussed tail gate recipes.

Aside from my #worklife, this was the FIRST time, that I have travelled solo since becoming a mother. This my friends was so, so needed.

I visited some amazing eateries such as Chloe’s where everything is Vegan. I also tried my first Beyond Meat vegan burger from the Distillery. The Distillery was probably my favorite place to grab cocktails and quality pub food.

I stayed at Yotel NYC, which was a perfect location in the heart of Hells Kitchen/Broadway District. Also the place where I tried my first NYC pizza (Hello $10 Happy Hour for Pizza and a Beer)

I woke up to the most gorgeous sunrises which reflected upon the Hudson river.

And managed to catch one gorgeous sunset from my room also.

Bryant Park was one of my favorite places to explore that I walked through each day. The NYPL was just gorgeous and I couldn’t help but admire the architecture.

Also visited the skating park at Bryant Park a few times.

Central Park was definitely my favorite of all places. Something about the Pond and the Plaza, and having flash backs to watching Home Alone 2 and the pigeon lady.

In between my strolls and coffee stops at Grumpy Cafe, Romeo and Juliet’s and a few fun cocktail joints, I made a few shopping stops.

Whole Foods. Love! My luggage carried back so many fun ingredients.

And I also found me a new recipe book to inspire a few new meal ideas of items I tried in NYC.

So that’s a wrap darlings. I wish I had more photos to share, but honestly I just wanted to take the city in and be present and take advantage of a rare opportunity. NYC was so beautiful, especially in the coldest of months. Experiencing walking through Central Park, during a light snow fall was breathtaking. I’m glad to be back in Vancouver, but will never forget this amazing work vacation!

Also the luxury of having a whole bed to myself, a waterfall shower with all glass doors overlooking Manhattan and having a Manhattan in Manhattan in my bed were definite travel joys.

Do you travel for work? Or gone on any trips solo? Let me know about your experiences in the comments below.
